Winter’s here, and it’s officially comfort food season. So shake off the cold, pull up a chair and let us do the warming up with our Winter Set Menu. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill winter dishes. We’re talking hearty British classics, big, bold flavours and all the cosy, feel-good plates you’ve been craving when the temperature drops.
Settle in with 2 courses for £19 or go all out with 3 for £23 — because winter is far too long not to treat yourself. Cold outside, cosy inside… you know the drill.
We know how important it is to start your day the right way so kick off with a hearty breakfast and everything else will fall into place. Set yourself up for success with a childhood favourite like Dippy Eggs, or our Pope’s breakfast muffin, complete with juicy sausage patty and oozingly melty cheese all resting upon a perfectly fluffy English muffin.Â
Sunday’s are sacred with our Head Chef’s serious Sunday skills, our roasts are not to be missed.
Perfectly cooked meats, crunchy roasties you can hear from the high street, larger-than-life Yorkie puds and a seasonal veggie option that can be enjoyed with all the same trimmings. We’ll keep your Sunday full and delicious, just how it should be.
The Pope felt like the best place to be for a chill afternoon with friends. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great outside space with comfy seating. Me and my friends had a bottle of the New Zealand sauvignon blanc and sharing boards which was very nice. Also a great place to go on a friday night as they have live music.
Friendly staff and nice drinks selection. Great atmosphere before going to watch the rugby.
Our first visit to this restaurant. Lovely situation near the river. Very easy to park. Extremely helpful waiting staff. Companions had hake (which apparently was landed in the northeast Atlantic). My choice was cod and chips (arguably best I’ve ever eaten). Companions finished with a shared apple and rhubarb crumble (probably enough for three people). What’s not to like about this place? Give it a go!

An excellent team at The Alexander Pope, working extremely hard every day to look after their guests. Not to mention the consistently good food. Probably Twickenham’s best kept open secret.
Very spacious and friendly pub. It’s in a beautiful location by the river, and has plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. I haven’t eaten here (only had drinks) but the menu looks good. Staff were friendly and toilets were clean.
