There’s no better way to spend a Sunday than in the pub with friends and family, spicy Bloody Mary in one hand, fork in the other, ready to tuck into a button-popping Sunday roast.
We’re pretty bloomin’ proud of our Sunday roasts with crispy roasties, sides for days and gallons of gravy. Oh and with bottomless giant yorkies, you’ll know you’ve come to the right place.
Chose this place as it’s was recommended by other friends and we went for cocktails and sharers after work on Friday. A perfect location and you can even sit outside in the front garden. We sat in the atrium and had table service which was excellent. Good size portions and nice ciders. Hope to make it a regular monthly stop.
Charming, clean and comfortable with gracious and attentive staff. The shower was fabulous. Bus stop right outside, lovely river walk in the park along the Thames opposite this hotel. Train station just a few minutes walk. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Internet was a bit spotty but everything else was great.
The Pope felt like the best place to be for a chill afternoon with friends. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great outside space with comfy seating. Me and my friends had a bottle of the New Zealand sauvignon blanc and sharing boards which was very nice. Also a great place to go on a friday night as they have live music.
Friendly staff and nice drinks selection. Great atmosphere before going to watch the rugby.

Our first visit to this restaurant. Lovely situation near the river. Very easy to park. Extremely helpful waiting staff. Companions had hake (which apparently was landed in the northeast Atlantic). My choice was cod and chips (arguably best I’ve ever eaten). Companions finished with a shared apple and rhubarb crumble (probably enough for three people). What’s not to like about this place? Give it a go!

We held our wedding reception at this pub and it was amazing! They took care of us through the whole process and the day went perfectly. All our guests commented how lovely of an atmosphere the staff created and no one was ever waiting for a drink / food! The most perfect day at the most perfect venue!!
An excellent team at The Alexander Pope, working extremely hard every day to look after their guests. Not to mention the consistently good food. Probably Twickenham’s best kept open secret.
Very spacious and friendly pub. It’s in a beautiful location by the river, and has plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. I haven’t eaten here (only had drinks) but the menu looks good. Staff were friendly and toilets were clean.
Enjoyed every minute of my stay here. Lovely room with balcony and large comfy bed.
The bar was very atmospheric with fun and friendly staff. I ate a delicious full English breakfast sitting in the Atrium enjoying the sunshine. Have already booked my next stay !

Me and my wife spent two weeks at Alexander Pope culminating with Italy playing England at Twickenham stadium. Apart from the results of the game everything was extraordinary for us. We had a clean and well furnished room, the staff were courteous and very attentive to us during our time here and were very pleased with the level of service we received.
We had breakfast here every morning and dinner on several occasions. The food was full of flavor and very tasty. Overall this little hotel worked very well for our holiday and we know we will visit again.
Here at the Alexander Pope we’re super excited for the biggest sporting event of the year. We’ll be showing every game of the FIFA World Cup 2026 live on our big screens in the pub.
Expect great food, perfect pints and an electric atmosphere that you just can’t match at home. It’s the place to be in Twickenham this summer.
