December in Twickenham brings plenty of reasons to settle into the pub. Maybe it’s getting the old gang back together, rounding up the team for the annual Christmas do or handing the cooking over to us for Christmas Day lunch. There are some things that simply belong in a pub and a Bloody Mary is one of them. Ours is made with Absolut Tobasco vodka and Pickle House tomato mix for just the right amount of spice. Perfect before an epic roast, or for blowing away a few cobwebs from the night before. Lovely jubbly.

Serving hand-stretched pizzas piled high with tempting toppings, our outdoor pizza oven at The Alexander Pope is your match-made in pizza heaven. A perfect go-to for sun-soaked lunches, laid-back dinners and post-rugby refuelling in Twickenham.
The Pope felt like the best place to be for a chill afternoon with friends. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great outside space with comfy seating. Me and my friends had a bottle of the New Zealand sauvignon blanc and sharing boards which was very nice. Also a great place to go on a friday night as they have live music.
Friendly staff and nice drinks selection. Great atmosphere before going to watch the rugby.
Our first visit to this restaurant. Lovely situation near the river. Very easy to park. Extremely helpful waiting staff. Companions had hake (which apparently was landed in the northeast Atlantic). My choice was cod and chips (arguably best I’ve ever eaten). Companions finished with a shared apple and rhubarb crumble (probably enough for three people). What’s not to like about this place? Give it a go!

An excellent team at The Alexander Pope, working extremely hard every day to look after their guests. Not to mention the consistently good food. Probably Twickenham’s best kept open secret.
Very spacious and friendly pub. It’s in a beautiful location by the river, and has plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. I haven’t eaten here (only had drinks) but the menu looks good. Staff were friendly and toilets were clean.
